Freedom of expression, advocacy of humanist values
Upon the foundation of the Turkish Atheism Association (Ateizm Derneği) in April 2014, its personnel started to receive death threats. In 2015, an Ankara court blocked the Association’s website for a few months on grounds of disrupting public order and insulting religious values, as per Article 216.3 of the Penal Code.
