The wider Guatemala religious landscape: Catholic and rapidly Pentecostalizing — Catholic ~45%, Protestant/Pentecostal ~42% and growing fast, indigenous Maya religious practices integrated into both.

In a place the size of Mazatenango, the religious community is often the community.
