Jequié has a layered Christian religious life where Catholic, evangelical, and Pentecostal traditions all have visible presence, and each produces its own kind of person who leaves. The wider Brazil religious landscape: Catholic plurality (~50%) but rapidly being overtaken by evangelical/Pentecostal denominations (~31%), substantial Afro-Brazilian religions (Candomblé, Umbanda), and growing "no religion" especially in cities.
